Rockabilly: Mermay Day 3 Colored

Slowly working through all my mermay sketches and taking them to full color. I was really inspired by the old pinup art styles for this piece. At one point I thought of making the background blue and make it look like she was really underwater but it kind of detracted from the pinup style so I went with the white background with silhouettes of fish in the back.

If you like pinup art then you're probably already familiar with Gil Elvgren, he's one of my favorite pinup artists and referencing his artwork really helped me with this piece. He's a true master and if you're not familiar with his artwork definitely look him up.
